In this episode, we visit Barcelona and we discuss some of the famous sites, (Sagrada de Familia) but also share some stories of places that you might never have heard of before!
-Sagrada de Familia, Park Guell, Casa Battlo: All three of these magnificent sites were designed by architect, Antoni Gaudi. They are not to be missed when visiting Barcelona.
-Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey: See the famous, “Black Madonna”, and other important works of art and archeological treasures, ride the funicular up the mountain, take a hike, take in some spectacular views.
-Viator: A Trip Advisor company that offers all kinds of tours, classes, and transfers for a fee. If you want to do a daytrip somewhere, but don’t want to rent a car, this is a fantastic site to check out as they facilitate all kinds of tours like that.
-Andorra: A micro state between Spain and France.
-Llivia: An enclave of Spain completely encapsulated within France.
-Geocaching: Finding “treasure” by using GPS coordinates. We have done this all over the world, in the woods, rural areas, urban areas, etc. See geocaching.com to see how many there are.
-Girona: Has a cathedral with the largest nave outside of St. Peter’s in Rome.
-Daytrip recommendations that we didn’t get to: Roman Temple of Vic, Castille St. Joan, Castellfollit de la Roca, Cadaques, Tarragona Amphitheater.
-Aire Ancient Baths: The most luxurious experience dipping into baths of different temps in a setting that looks and feels positively ancient. A mystical and relaxing evening that was a highlight of our trip! They are located in a number of other cities as well, including some in the United States.
-Paradiso: One of the top bars in the world. A hidden bar with fantastical drinks, back lit menus, cool atmosphere.
